I light a candle

I light a candle.
Thank you for my body,
my health and strength,
energy steady.
I light a candle.
Thank you for my soul,
my intuition and connection,
release of control.
I light a candle.
Thank you for my family,
my origin and blueprint,
building blocks of me.
I light a candle.
Thank you for my creativity,
what comes through for expression,
earthly divinity.
I sit and I close my eyes.
Every day I pray.
May delusion dissolve.
May we know the way.
For all beings to be happy.
For all beings to be well.
May all suffering cease.
May peace in our hearts dwell.
I chant to Shiva.
Om Namo Shivaya.
My mind is active,
dancing with maya.
I keep going.
Attention at my brow.
Placing sound there.
Perseverance my vow.
The vibration is potent.
The mantra is pure.
Rearranging the atoms
of this world, I am sure.
For it has altered me
in the best possible ways.
Deeply creative and peaceful
for all of my days.
I am but a thread in the fabric,
yet I impact the whole.
My frequency matters.
This is the goal of the soul.
To experience individuality,
yet to be certain of oneness.
My human mind knows this
as it settles into stillness.
The chant has faded away.
The voice has become quiet.
Inner eye has opened.
Consciousness immersed in violet.
This is but a blink of an eye,
yet time has stretched long.
The mind and maya dance again
to their perpetual song.
And I open my eyes.
My smile is bright.
I pick up my pen
and I begin to write.
